Mt. Wilson

Mount Wilson is located about 50 minutes out of Los Angeles in the Angeles National Forest. You may recognize it as a part of the renown Los Angeles backdrop displayed on many postcards or on the Wikipedia page. I have vague memories of coming up here when I was younger so jumped at the opportunity to come back. (Last time I was here was during a camp session with my school when we slid down waterfalls and went Garnet hunting). Although the skies were a bit hazy and the famous observatory had closed, I was still thankful for the present nature around me.

Coastline & Redwoods Pt. 1

The first semester at my new university was the most stressful I had ever been. With the new environment, moving out of my parent's house and trying to keep up with the academics I felt my sanity slowly slipping away. It's strange but during this period I found myself having this constant internal pull towards nature. Little things such as seeing the sunlight shine through the trees as I walked towards campus, or admiring blooming flowers from the Library's window played a part in my endurance and inspired me to act on these frustrations. And so, that is how this trip to Northern California began.

Natural Healing

The retreat I went on last weekend was everything I needed. The mountains, fresh air, and greenery was the perfect cure for the anxiety I'd been having for the past few weeks. I finally felt at peace and most importantly able to grasp a feeling of what I had been lacking spiritually. One evening, when everyone was participating in activities I decided to wander off into the forest. It was truly the happiest I had been in a while. I listened to the creek babbling, the wind stirring the trees, and just opened my eyes to the wonders around me.
