No such thing as June Gloom

Seriously can't believe I got Senior Awards....

Okay, I will admit that it is pretty gloomy outside, but still warm (that's Cali for ya). Sometimes this type of weather relaxes me and gets me thinking about... I will be graduating high school in less than two weeks and I can't help but think that Wow, I can do anything. Ah ha sounds weird, but I might randomly decide to go to school in Canada or something. I know I sound crazy but my point is that the "impossible" looks more doable. But with everything happen, I could less if it rains or shines because everything is starting to look up, and I am getting a more positive mindset. Lately I have just been working out, trying to read more of my bible, and trying to finalize things for Europe. Check out how much my mom and I have been planning for the past few months.....

A Midnight's Memory

On May 27th, 2011 I attended my senior prom and it was amazing. Everyone looked so beautiful in their attire, and the venue was mind blowing. Hahha I didn't know my school could pull off something like that, it wasn't some weird place filled with streamers, but instead a nature museum filled with garden, fountains, and a fancy dance floor (too bad my camera didn't focus well to take in a nice shot). But here are some pics of that magical night!

Who would have known?

I never thought I would be attending my senior prom....but I guess I am now.  Let's get something straight. I defintely was Never one of those girls who dreamed or planned prom like a future wedding. This year has been really hectic, stressful, and not to mention an emotional rollar coaster due to colleges so I sort of discarded prom, especially since I cared more about my trip to Europe this summer! All my friends and family nagged me about it, but I felt neutral. But randomly on Friday I ended up buying my ticket and getting a date...can you say woah?!

So this weekend my mom and I went dress shopping. I had mentally prepared myself to be searching for hours but we ended up finding the perfect dress in less than an hour! Another thing that shocked me, since apparently everything is a surprse in the face, is that my dress is BLUE! I was totally against this color and wanted either red, black, or white but literally when I put on the dress it fit like a glove. I like simplicity with a NICE touch of elegance, and this dress went beyond my expectations.

Overall, I guess I'm more nervous than excited which I have no idea why. With prom less than 3 weeks away I still have to think of what I am going to do with this long, crazy, curly hair of mine!!

Grunion Run!

On Tuesday night some friends and I went to do some extra credit for our Marine Biology Class. We went to attend the Grunion run which is when a small type of silvery fish spawns. What makes the event so special is that these fish only come out during a certain time of year April-July from the Coast of Southern California to Baja California to spawn OUT OF WATER!! After the high tide on certain nights within this period you find beaches covered in Grunion-females despostiting eggs into the sand and males releasing their milt. Sounds totally gross, but sitting on the beach for an hour or two feeling dissapointed that maybe tonight wasn't the right time. To when the large crowd suddenly gasps at seeing the first batch of small silvery fish dancing in the darkness-it truly is awesome!!!  I recommend people to go out and see this event, it really is intriguing and plus the aquarium is open at this time as well. Here are some pics!
Beautiful to look but dangerous to touch

Cute Starfish :)

One lone straggler

Here they come!

The entire beach looked like this!
